NIGHT OF THE WITCH

COMING SOON

A 200-YEAR-OLD CURSE, 50 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Night of the Witch began as a concept recorded by Stan Lee on quarter-inch tape in 1968, shortly after forming a creative bond with fellow Yale alumnus Lloyd Kaufman, who would later go on to co-found TROMA Entertainment. By 1971, the duo completed the first draft of the screenplay—a brutal, socially charged supernatural horror film that dared to say something in the middle of the chaos.

That same year, the screenplay was optioned by The Canon Group, with plans to shoot in Alberta, Canada in the fall of 1971. Sadly, the film never entered production. Until now...

SYNOPSIS

Set in Salem, Night of the Witch follows college student Elsie Gomez, who finds herself entangled in a wave of violence during the town's bicentennial celebration. Two hundred years after the burning of a teenage girl accused of witchcraft, a deadly curse awakens. As the town spirals into hysteria, Elsie becomes the target of a bloodthirsty mob. But as the truth unravels, it becomes clear: the witch only kills those who deserve it.
